The Cure for Hopelessness

Lately, the key word used to describe the sense that the majority of the citizens of the United States is 'hopelessness'! How utterly sad and we can wallow in the mire of hopelessness or we can get off our collective butts and change things. I keep hearing comments regarding the Electoral College and how our votes do not count. People!! You are being manipulated by the Republicans, the Koch monies and Roger Ayles puppets over at Fox News. It is time for you to remember and research your old high school Civics lessons.
Unfortunately, gerrymandering or as it has been called lately, 'redistricting' (thanks to the Republicans), has redrawn voting districts in favor of the Republicans in the Electoral College. The key is to get people to vote. If the majority of the citizens, in a Republican district, vote in favor of the Democratic candidate, then the Electoral College vote goes to the Democrat. It is all about the individual votes and the key is getting out to vote. The Republicans are mainly favorable to old, white men. The Democrats have women, African-Americans, Senior Citizens, Hispanics, young people, etc. and getting out to the polls is the key. There are far more of us than there are of them!!
The easiest solution to this collective hopelessness is a trip to the voting booth. The Kochs and their cronies may buy candidates but, they are NOT buying our votes unless we let them!
